Chana Chaat Recipe
½ cup of chickpeas / chana / senagalu (measure before soaking)
1 small onion chopped
1 small tomato chopped
Few sprigs of coriander leaves
1 to 2 green chili chopped
½ to 1 teaspoon thick tamarind paste or lemon juice
¼ to ½ teaspoon dates syrup or honey
½ teaspoon dry ginger powder
½ teaspoon dry mango powder
Chat masala as needed
Pepper powder as desired
Wash soak chickpeas in lot of water for at least 6 to 8 hrs, keep changing the water if soaking for longer than 12 hours to avoid odor.
Pressure cook chickpeas till soft. You can pressure cook for 2 whistles with little water. You can even cook in a pot with enough water to cover them. Cook till they turn soft. Cool them completely.
Add the rest of the ingredient.
Serve chana chaat with boondi or sev (mixture) topped on it.
